About the Department

The Department of Animation and Visual effects comes under School of Media and Design. The department offers an undergraduate programme in BA Animation and Visual Effects.
The Animation and Visual Effects Programme prepares graduates for a varied range of careers in the industry such as 3D or 2D animator, Layout artist, Scriptwriter, Storyboard artist, Rigger, Character Modeler, Texturing artist, Roto artist, Video Editor, Lighting and Rendering artist, Motion Graphics artist, Compositor, Match move technician, Flash animator, Digital painting, Cartoonist, Illustrator, Concept artist, Photography, Videography, Visual Effects Supervisor, 3D Architectural Visualizer etc. The skills taught in the programme encompass craft at a technical level and also include design, drawing, critical thinking, creativity, daring, collaboration, and a fundamental awareness of theory and history. Throughout the programme, students are engaged in all aspects of animation and visual effects production, from concept development and production design to the completion of finished segments.

Duration   : 3 years (6 semesters)

Eligibility  : A pass in +2/VHSE/Equivalent exam
